What is Salvation?

The concept of salvation is frequently misunderstood as something that must be earned or deserved. In reality, it transcends notions of merit or worthiness. Salvation is, at its core, a gift—a profound and unconditional offering from God to humanity. Much like the gifts we receive throughout our lives from friends, family, or loved ones, salvation is not contingent upon our actions or our ability to prove ourselves worthy. Instead, it is an act of divine grace and love, extended to us with an invitation to embrace it fully.

How can I be saved?

Simple Answer (Receive It) from God

Confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is the Son of God, and you will be saved.

Accepting the gift of salvation requires a humble recognition of our need for it and a willingness to open ourselves to its transformative power. Just as we treasure the gifts we receive from others, we are called to value the gift of salvation, allowing it to shape our lives and guide us on our journey. Salvation is not merely an abstract concept; it is a tangible reality that enriches our existence and brings us closer to God. When we receive a gift from someone, we do not question their intentions or scrutinize whether we have done enough to deserve it; we simply accept it with gratitude and an open heart. In the same way, God offers the gift of salvation to each of us, regardless of our past mistakes, shortcomings, or failures. It is an invitation to enter into a relationship of love, forgiveness, and renewal.

Do I need to get Baptized?

After receiving the Lord Jesus Christ, the new believer is instructed by the Word of God to be baptized in water in the Name of the Lord. This act of baptism symbolizes the believer’s identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, marking the beginning of their new life in Him.

Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Mark 16:16; Acts 8:12, 8:36-38, 10:47-48

(Baptism is not what saves you; it is Jesus who saves you.)

Does the Bible say that I should to attend Church?

Yes, the Bible has many passages that discuss church attendance, including:

  • Hebrews 10:24-25: Emphasizes the importance of encouraging one another to meet together

  • Acts 2:42: Describes how early Christians devoted themselves to teaching, fellowship, prayer, and breaking bread

  • Psalm 122:1-9: Expresses joy at the opportunity to go to the house of the Lord

What role does my denomination play in my salvation?

Denomination plays no role in salvation. Salvation comes solely through the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

God loves us, but sin separated us from Him. Jesus died to reconcile us to God. The question now is: will you accept what Jesus did for you?
